Out and about part 2

I’ve got another busy day ahead of me!! Going to lunch with my pastor, getting my hair cut!, and going to dinner with some family. Oh, and school. =P

I woke up bright n’ early this morning and had an extremely boring breakfast. Grits and orange juice. Exciting, no? It was tasty, nonetheless. Then, I did a 20 min strength routine that included tons of squats, lunges, pushups, crunches and all of that fun stuff.

Got right down to work, and I’ve almost finished everything that I had to do for school today!!!!! Sooooo happy!!!!!!!

That’s about all I’ve got for now, see ya’ll later

I Love Mexican Food

I guess the title of this post gave away the type of food we ate last night, huh??

We haven’t had mexican in soooo long, we went to a little place called Mi Pueblo’s!!!!! I ordered some grilled shrimp served over rice (which might have had some cheese sauce on it =D, with pico and fresh veggies!! Soo good!! I ate almost EVERYTHING and it was an extremely large portion, so I was pretty stuffed.

This morning, I kept things simple with a peaches n’ cream shake and a bowl of grits. The shake had 1 serving of Aria vanilla protein powder (2 scoops), some water and milk, 1 peach yogurt and some frozen peach slices!! It was awesome!

Now, we’re just hangin’ out and enjoying the weekend. Next week we begin traveling, and things are going to get pretty crazy, so we want to relax and rest up now. Which is why I am now back in bed while writing this post.

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?

Why I didn’t post and a busy day(weekend)

I’m soooooo sorry that I didn’t post last night! My sister and I watched a movie (yes, another one) and I immediately crashed. I guess school had really stressed me out, even more than I realized.

But, last night’s dinner was sooo good that I have to at least mention it here. Mom bought us some shrimp, because she doesn’t like them herself, and I used some of them to make a shrimp burrito!! I spread some mashed-up black beans on a tortilla, put the shrimp (seasoned with spicy season-all) on next, spread a cottage cheese mixture (cc with fajita seasoning, garlic salt, and pepper) and then put some of the chopped veggies that I mentioned a couple days ago. It was soooo yummy! The rest of my shrimp I ate with just a little spicy season-all on them. I also ate an orange tomato with some more cottage cheese (just plain this time =D). I finished it all of with, yet another, three musketeers!!! whooooo!!! It was an awesome friday meal (or any other day for that matter)!!!!!!!

For today’s breakfast, I was craving something simple and familiar. I’ve been tryin’ out some new stuff (hello choc. pb oatmeal) which I’ve really liked, but just like yesterday with the string cheese, when my body tells me what it wants, I try to listen. Otherwise, I usually end up really grumpy. Does that happen to anyone else?

Anyhow, I made my favorite mocha protein shake, which I haven’t made in a while and ate a bowl of butter-flavored grits! Pretty simple, I’ll admit, but there was something comforting in its simplicity! Also, for the first time, I added just a dash of cinnamon to my shake, and it was pretty awesome!

We’re gonna be out and about pretty much all weekend! Goin’ to my grandmother’s this morning, then visiting my aunt (one of my mom’s sisters) later on. My aunt is watching one of my cousin’s kids, because the other one is having his tonsils out. Also, this cousin’s mom, my mom’s other sister, is with another one of her daughters in NJ, because that daughter is in the hospital. Soo a pretty complicated time for that side of the family….please be praying for them all!!!!! I sure hope that I made sense. =P

Tomorrow, we’re gonna help a friend of mine sort through some clothes that they’re gonna donate. Usually she does it alone,  but we decided to help her since we’re here anyway. Also, her family is gonna have a CRAZY week, because one of her siblings is having surgery. Please pray for them also!!!!

Guess what? My dad gets in this week!!! I’m soooo excited!!!! It has been 6 weeks since I last saw him!!!!! Can’t believe how time has flown. He arrives Thursday, and next Tuesday we set out on a 2 week road trip! Gotta visit lots of people! Then, we’ll spend 2 weeks here, and set out for yet another 2 weeks of traveling!

Well that’s about it for now……sorry again about not posting last night!

See ya’ sometime soon! I don’t know when I’ll be able to post next =(

Breakfast o’ the Champions and the beginning of school

Heey everyone!!!! Last night I was so excited about the cottage cheese and the fact that I liked it, I planned to incorporate it into my breakfast (maybe with some cereal or fruit). This morning, on the other hand, my stomach said that it wanted good old fashioned, piping hot, grits and who was I to deny it? Soo grits it was, along with, you guessed it, a mocha protein shake. I really like those things……..maybe its the 2 cups of coffee (yes, I upsized). So there you have it, my breakfast of the champions. I have a friend who eats ANYTHING for breakfast: hot pockets, chinese, and so on. What is your breakfast of the champions?

Why am I up so early you ask? I start school today!!!! Now let me explain, I study at home, but I download my weekly schedule, posted by my teachers, off of the internet. Its pretty cool, actually. This year I have some interesting courses, but one of them, Webpage design, I’ll only be taking next semester. =( I skipped integrated science and went straight to Chem., I have recieved a lab kit from school and am hoping that some time over the course of the year I will blow something or another up. =D

Well, I have to actually start on my work in a minute, but I have one more announcement. I’m not gonna post my snacks every day any longer, because I eat practically the same thing (hello luna bars and yogurt parfaits). So from now on, I’ll only post the more original snacks, (or the better luna flavors =P) because I really don’t want to bore you all to absolute death!

One question:

Do you eat the same thing as a snack every day, or do you prefer to change it up?

See you later, alligator (corny, yes I know)!

Not a happy napkin morning….

What is a happy napkin day you ask? It is what my family calls a day where everything goes just right. Let me give you a few examples of what is and what isn’t a happy napkin day.

Your mocha morning protein smoothie oozes out of the bottom of your blender.  Not a happy napkin day

My mocha morning mess.

You didn’t spill anything else or make any other sort of mess. Happy napkin day.

Your camera decides that, after taking pictures of your breakfast, it doesn’t want to work any longer, and you can’t find batteries. Not a happy napkin day.

You did, in fact, manage to make a decent pot of coffee. Happy napkin day.

You are going to the doctor in a few hours. Not a happy napkin day.

So, now hopefully I have made clear the concept of a happy napkin day and we can move on. =D

I did actually manage to salvage some of my smoothie, which, in spite of causing a huge mess, was actually pretty good. I also ate a yummy bowl’o grits (of the quaker instant variety), which I enjoyed with some chopped up bell pepper, salt and black pepper. Oh and though I forgot to mention this yesterday, I had this a wonderful breakfast at the hotel. Instead of making instant oatmeal with water or milk, I used spiced tea!! Soooo good. I’m going to have to buy me some oats!!!!

So here’s my breakfast:

Smoothie(see the Luna bar in the background? yuuuum! saving it for later)

Grits before

Grits after.

I don’t know if I’ll be taking any more pics today, but at least you got to see this morning’s. Maybe it was more of a happy napkin morning than I thought! God bless!!!!

Until next time =D
