Out and about part 2

I’ve got another busy day ahead of me!! Going to lunch with my pastor, getting my hair cut!, and going to dinner with some family. Oh, and school. =P

I woke up bright n’ early this morning and had an extremely boring breakfast. Grits and orange juice. Exciting, no? It was tasty, nonetheless. Then, I did a 20 min strength routine that included tons of squats, lunges, pushups, crunches and all of that fun stuff.

Got right down to work, and I’ve almost finished everything that I had to do for school today!!!!! Sooooo happy!!!!!!!

Trip preparations

I got started on school suuuuper early today, so that I could spend the afternoon getting ready to leave tomorrow. I’ve already done all of my work AND exercised!!!!! I’m a little nervous about the trip, though…

Breakfast was boring oatmeal, sooo I’m gonna skip to lunch!!!!

Lunch was wonderful!!! I made mini pizzas on both halves of a sandwich thin. I put marinara, bell pepper, onion, chicken and mozzarella on each. I ate them with some cucumber slices, a pickle and a fig newton! Sooo good!!!!!!

Just now, I decided to use the can of chickpeas that has been sitting in the cabinet. No, I did not make hummus, because I’m too lazy. =D I washed the chickpeas and then mixed them with some cumin, garlic salt, spicy season-all and pepper. Then, I put them on a skillet sprayed with cooking spray and roasted them for a few minutes. Sooo simple, yet sooo tasty!!!!  I’m gonna use them in snack bags for tomorrow!!!!

Here’s the more exact recipe:

1 can of chickpeas

.25 tsp of garlic salt, pepper, cumin, season-all or to taste

Cooking spray

After draining and rinsing the chickpeas, put them in a bowl and add the seasonings. If you want, you can change up the amounts or the seasonings themselves, depending on what you like. Then, put the chikpeas in a large skillet sprayed with cooking spray or with a tsp of oil. Cover and roast the chickpeas on med-high until they start to make popcorn noises, or for about 5 minutes. Enjoy!!!!!

A good weekend so far

This weekend has really been a good one. I got to spend time with my dad for the first time in 6 weeks, watch a couple of movies, visit with friends, go to church, and later today I will visit some family. It might sound boring to ya’ll, but I’ve really enjoyed it.

One thing that I’m a little less than excited about is our upcoming two-week trip. Don’t get me wrong, I really do want to see everyone that we will visit, I just REALLY don’t like road trips. Especially 2 week long ones. But, oh well, it’ll be a good experience, I guess.

I knew that we would be staying a little longer at church today so that my dad could see everyone, so I had a protein-packed breakfast! I scrambled an egg with some chopped tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. I then put the scramble into a flour tortilla and had a “breakfast burrito, Jen-style”. To drink, I had my first mocha protein shake in a while. It was sooo good and the entire meal kept me full until lunchtime.

My dad had been wanting to go to Wendy’s since he got here, so guess where we had lunch???? I ordered the Ultimate Chicken Grill with no honey mustard sauce(I usually like honey mustard, but not this sauce…strange, I know), with a side of mandarin oranges and a lemonade. It was a pretty darn good meal, if you ask me.  The protein from the chicken will keep me full during the one hour trip to my grandmother’s. =D

I know I usually don’t talk about snacks, but today I’m stuck between two.

1. Carmel Nut Brownie Luna Bar

2. Banana Bread Larabar

I’ve had the luna before, and I love it. I would like to try the larabar, but the 10g of fat and 230 cals. sort of threw me off. I know that it is healthy fat and the bar is made from natural food, but I also know that we are probably going to eat out again at dinner with my dad’s brother and his family. Both are good snack options, so I’m having a hard time choosing!

Which do you prefer, Luna Bars or Larabars?

I know that this is gonna sound rude, but I really have no idea what to talk about with my cousin. She is a year younger than me, but we are completely different. She talks about all of the different guys that she likes and stuff like that. If you’re homeschooled, like me, and don’t get out much, then you don’t deal with all of that. At least I don’t. So pray for me please! I really love her, but it just seems that we don’t really have a whole lot to talk about.

Trip to the airport and no more school

Last night, at 12:30 pm, my dad arrived at the airport. We came immediately home and went to sleep, only to wake up at 7 AM!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning, I tried out my new Aria Vanilla protein powder!!! It was pretty good in coffee!! A vanilla frapp instead of a mocha I guess….anyhow I would really recommend buying it if you’re not lactose intolerant, it mixes in really well and is inexpensive!!!! I also had some oatmeal with chopped frozen peaches and cinnamon!!! soooo tasty!!

I took my weekly algebra test today, got a 98!!! =D I was pretty happy about that and about the fact that I have officially finished school for the week!!!!

Lunch was good…turkey on an orowheat sandwich thin with mustard, squash, zucchini, lettuce, and banana peppers. On the side I had some grape tomatoes, a plum, half of a string cheese, and a fig newton! Oh, and some pickles too…. =P

We’re just gonna hang out for a while, and then this afternoon, go out and do stuff. We’re probably gonna eat out tonight………don’t know where though =P!

Oh and earlier, I tried the Breakstone cottage cheese/strawberry snack! It was cottage cheese on one side and strawberry preserves on the other. You mix ’em together and eat every bite(at least, that is what I did). Sooo good!!!! I saw pineapple too, and you know that I will try it at some point in the very near future!!!!!

Really. Big. Day.

I am soooo incredibly sorry about not having posted at all today!!!!!!!!!!! I’ll just breeze through what happened yesterday after my last post all the way through today.

As you already know, I went with my friend to youth group!!!! It was sooo much fun (and may or may not have involved a cherry limeade from sonic =P). I spent the night there and came back eaaaarly this morning and did pilates =P. After that, I made up a pot of extra-strong coffee for a mocha protein smoothie and got started on today’s school work.

Lunch today was pretty much exactly the same as yesterday’s (just because it was soooo yummy =P, so I won’t go into details about it.

Then, I went to confirmation class, which was also pretty good!!!!!

Today, I bought some new stuff that I’m really excited about:

  • Aria Vanilla Protein for Women (new protein flavor!!! I can use this one in fruit shakes too!!!!)
  • 3 Pria PowerBars (in Chocolate Peanut Crunch, French Vanilla Crisp, and Mint Chocolate Cookie.)
  • A cottage cheese breakfast thing with cottage cheese on one side and a little container of fresh strawberries to mix into it!
  • Progresso Reduced Sodium Chicken Gumbo (which I already ate….sooo good! All of the Progresso soups that I have tried taste so fresh!!!!)
  • Fig Newtons!!!!!! (haven’t had these in YEARS!!!)

Well, I’m about to go to bed, because I have to be at the airport at 11 PM to pick my dad up. Let’s just pray that he makes all of his connections and actually arrives.

Lots more school and spending the night at a friend’s

So I’m FINALLY finished with most of today’s word!!!!!! Yaaaay! =D It took me a while, but I DID stop for lunch, of course. Today’s sandwich was 1 tsp regular creamy pb and 1 tsp dark chocolate pb with some fresh peach slices on a Nature’s Own sandwich round! On the side, I ate some more peaches, cottage cheese (YUM), a pickle and a mini three musketeers. It seems as though I have a slight addiction to three musketeers. I guess worse things could happen, though.

I am supposedly working on a US history timeline, but I took a quick break to blog. Shhhhh! Its our secret =P. Tonight, I’m going to a friend’s youth service at her church and then spending the night at her house! yaaay! We leave at around 5:30 ish, so I’ll eat dinner before and snack later!! I have really enjoyed the youth group both times that I have gone.

Tomorrow morning, I’ll come straight home to do school. Tomorrow night my dad arrives!!!!!! I’m planning on going to the airport =D. Tuesday, we already hit the road for 2 weeks!!!!

Well, that’s really about it. School sort of slows down social life, doesn’t it?

Mahi Mahi and a lot of school

Guess what? I tried mahi mahi for the first time EVER last night!!!!!!!! We had all eaten a LOT of food for lunch, so we decided to have a lighter supper, consisting of a salad with our choice of protein. While in the grocery store, I found a single-serving pouch of mahi mahi, and because my dad and I are the only ones in the family who like fish, and he isn’t here, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try a new kind of fish without having leftovers. I broiled it with some lemon juice, spicy season-all and pepper. Soooo yummy!!!! I put it on top of a bed of lettuce, various types of tomatoes (yellow, plum and cherry =P), onions, bell peppers, celery and mushrooms. Then, I drizzled a little bit of a fat free Honey Dijon salad dressing on top!!!! It was wonderful without being too heavy!!!!!!!!!! Do you like fish? What is your favorite type, and how do you like to prepare it?

Today’s breakfast was boring: mocha protein shake and oatmeal, so I’m just going to skip right over it. =D

I have finished a map of the US in 1860 for my history class, which is good, but I still have a timeline for the same class to do. I also have algebra work, a chemistry essay and labs, and a bunch of other stuff that I didn’t do yesterday. Whoops!!!! =P Sooo today will be pretty filled with school stuff!

Oh! I have wonderful news!! My dad is getting here tomorrow!! I’m sooooooo excited! It has been almost 6 weeks since I saw him!
